Everadio is a web radio. This page explains, in plain words, what we remember about you, why, and who helps us run the service. We never sell your data.

If you just listen

  • We remember your browser. A cookie lets us recognize your browser when you come back, so we can avoid playing you the same songs over and over and show what you played recently. It lasts a year.
  • What you play: which songs you listened to, on which station or playlist, and when.
  • Your IP address, briefly, to keep the service secure and running smoothly. We don't keep it alongside your listening history.
  • A few preferences on your device, such as whether you prefer songs without vocals and which notices you've dismissed. These stay in your browser and never reach us.

If you create an account

  • Your account details: your email address, your name and your password, which we store in a form nobody can read back, not even us. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us.
  • Keeping you signed in: a cookie keeps you signed in, and we note roughly which device and browser each sign-in came from. You're signed out after a week without use.
  • Your activity: the songs you like or dislike, your playlists, and your answer if we ask which station you'd like us to add.
  • Security events: we note when your password is set, changed or reset, and when you connect Google to your account.
  • Emails: we only send what you need, such as confirming your email address or resetting your password. No newsletters, no marketing.

If you send us feedback

  • Your message, the page you sent it from, and your email address only if you choose to give it. If you're signed in, we can see which account sent it. We delete feedback once we've dealt with it.

When something goes wrong

When an error happens, we get an automatic report about it: what broke, on which page and in which browser, plus some general information about how fast the site is running. If you're signed in, the report can tell us which account was affected, but it never includes your email address, your password or what you typed. These reports help us find and fix problems.

How long we keep it

  • Your account, likes, playlists and listening history: until you delete your account.
  • Listening without an account: your history is tied only to your browser. Once you clear your cookies, it can no longer be connected to you.
  • Short-lived technical records: from about an hour to a day.
  • Feedback: until we've dealt with it.
  • Error reports: up to 90 days.

Who helps us run Everadio

Like most websites, we rely on a few trusted companies. They handle data only on our behalf and only to provide their service to us:

  • a hosting provider that runs the website and stores our data;
  • a storage provider that delivers the music and artwork to your browser (like any website you visit, it sees your IP address);
  • an email provider that delivers our emails;
  • an error-reporting service that receives the reports described above;
  • Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.

These companies may handle data outside your country, including in the United States.

Cookies

Today we only use cookies Everadio needs to work: one that remembers your browser, one that keeps you signed in, and a short-lived one for a one-time notice after signing in with Google. Because none of them is optional, there is no cookie banner. If we ever add cookies for things like advertising or measuring how the site is used, we'll update this page and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Your choices

  • You can listen without an account.
  • You can change your likes and playlists at any time, and your password and Google sign-in on your Account page.
  • You can delete your account on your Account page. That removes your account, your likes, your playlists and the listening history linked to it.
  • For a copy of your data or any question about privacy, use the Feedback link in the menu.

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK), you have the right to see, correct or delete your data, to object to how we use it, and to complain to your data protection authority. We use your data to give you the service you asked for and, for security and error reports, because we have a legitimate interest in keeping Everadio safe and working.

Children

Everadio isn't meant for children under 13. If you think a child has created an account, tell us through the Feedback link and we'll delete it.

Changes

When this page changes, we update the date at the top, and we'll tell signed-in listeners about significant changes.
